(I do have the older "2Pacalypse" and "Strictly" CD's - I don't think they've been remastered, from what I can tell). I haven't heard the 2005 set, but I'm guessing that it uses the same mastering as the 2001 version. Until today, I had only heard the 2001 remaster. I still need to spend more time listening to the '96 discs, but this is my initial reaction. I think the remaster has a little more bass, but it doesn't seem to translate to it "hitting" any harder than the original version. The '96 version sounds more open, with better dynamics, and more snap. Is it me, or is the '96 version almost as loud as the 2001 remaster? I DID notice a difference in sound quality though. I think that there are some unanswered questions regarding the differences between the original '96 2-CD set (Was there a '95 pressing as well?) and the 20 remastered CD versions. 2017 140 min r drama, music, biography feature film.
